well... it looks like 8 songs was inaccurate. There are 10 songs on the digital download!... and if you already preordered... looks like we HAVE most of the bonus songs from the little bonuses sent out while we've been waiting. (If the track list is in order of CD) Glad to see the digital is 10 songs... yesterday I was sad I had only bought the digital and was just getting 8 songs... today I feel 100% better!

That wasn't the real Jason on the video. I'm sorry, I love the kid but when can you remember him being organized enough to provide a bullet point review of topics covered in his ramblings? Nope, not him at all until a glimmer at the end. Damn I miss those "but ums." ;) Now it looks like the lowest price for the 14 song CD is $29.99. I'm not paying that much for a CD. And if the 8 song hardcopy CD on Amazon is $15......looks like I'll wait it out longer and not get anything for awhile. Very disappointing since I've been waiting a few years already (has it been 2 or 3 - I've really lost count, seems like forever). I've supported him and paid for this and that all of this time, including the EP, but like Amy said, enough is enough, and at this point I feel a bit tapped out and taken advantage of. No, I don't think Jason personally is responsible for it but still - this does reflect on him and I don't think it's a great start for his career. It makes me sad.

Just want to pop in to say that I disagree with what some have said about Jason's latest video. I loved it! It reminded me of the old "date nights" with Jason just talking into his computer or camera and being his goofy self. I loved that he "reviewed" (haha) all his news and was so obviously excited and happy with all that's going on.

I agree with a lot of us that wanted more than eight songs on the CD in the stores,I had already pre-ordered Jason's CD but only got the standard package and I also pre-ordered from Amazon, and I am totally confused as to how many songs I will get for the pre-order,and I did not realize there would only be 8 songs on the one I pre ordered from Amazon,it is quite high for just eight songs, I got charged the full price of a CD,which I am not happy about if there are only 8 songs on it.I love this young man and have been there since day one and will continue to be but for all of those of us that have waited for so long to get our hands on this CD a lot of people will be disapointed by the price that we have to pay for the number of songs that we are getting.I pre-ordered his CD long ago when it first was available for pre-order but I did not know we only got eight songs,so who gets the deluxe version? I gather it will not be available in the stores, only the eight song version..totally confusing for me..The reason I pre ordered from Amazon is that I wanted a hard copy and one with Jason's picture on it but I thought I was getting more than eight songs, especially since I got charged over 15.00 for the CD,but I still would like to know which ones of us that pre ordered from the website will get the deluxe version, standard package? or do we have to order the 70.00 plus or have to order the 300.00 plus package.Hopefully someone will clear this up.I agree with so many of the fans, for someone new that has not heard Jason, eight songs is just not enough, and especially having to pay full price for it.The one on Amazon is not cheap, they charge you full price..Jason is like a son to me and I love and adore him so much but he needs some new marketing people, but I will always be there for him and support him in every way I can.

Well said, kari...I don't want the extras in the bundle either (don't need a poster, I have an autographed picture & calendar already, I'm not a teenager who plasters her walls with pictures of singers, etc.; also don't need a digital photo book!). Also this is a good point: "What I do believe is that this is a marketing tactic by Atlantic and in another 6 months or whatever, the full 14 song CD or something similar will be offered in stores everywhere." I sure hope this is NOT the case, because I think this is really unfair. We have already been waiting so long (remember the original release date was NOVEMBER??), why should we have to wait longer for the full CD? I feel like I'm being pressured (not necessarily by Jason, I think this is all coming from the label) to spend more and more money to support him -- which I will willingly do (and have done), but to an extent. I don't have a bunch of extra money lying around to buy extra copies of songs, etc. I was hesitant about the EP because I thought those songs would be on the full CD (and it looks like they are), but I went ahead and bought it because it was a pretty good price and I gave in to my desire to want the music NOW. I also fully agree about the video...it was obviously scripted and it didn't feel like Jason was talking and connecting to us like he always has in the past. There was a glimpse of the true him at the end, but otherwise I agree with you...it was almost painful to watch/listen to because it wasn't HIM.

I so agree with what everyone else has said. One, I'm confused about which pre-orders get the 14 song CD and which get the standard CD. Two, I think it's a really big mistake to only offer an 8 song CD in stores. Unless it's super cheap, not many people will be willing to pay for only 8 songs from a new artist -- that's kind of unheard of these days. I think this decision only hurts Jason's career and I hate that. Three, yes of course there are other songs I'd like to have on there but we obviously can't have them all. And finally, as someone who has been a fan since "Top 24 week," I agree that it kind of sucks that his original fans are being asked to jump through hoops, pre-order for more money on his website in order to get more than 8 songs, etc. So for me -- an original fan -- it's kind of down to this: I do not wish to pre-order from the website if it's going to cost more money for the CD (I don't want the extras, just the music), and if the CD in stores only has 8 songs - I'm not planning to buy it - especially if it's the price of a full CD. It's barely more than an EP. What I do believe is that this is a marketing tactic by Atlantic and in another 6 months or whatever, the full 14 song CD or something similar will be offered in stores everywhere. Unless I find out new information that changes the situation for me, I will be waiting for a better deal. And that makes me pretty sad as an original fan and "dreadhead." I thought Jason would do better for his early fans than this. My final (somewhat unrelated) comment is the last video from Jason made me a bit nauseous (sad since I love Jason so). As someone who always enjoyed his laid-back and quirky style, both on AI and then on his date night videos, I wish Atlantic would just let him be himself. He's obviously been coached, was reading a script, and honestly sounded like an infomercial instead of the Jason we all fell in love with. It broke my heart a little bit.

Over the past 6 months, Jason and/or David Helfant has mentioned that Wait, It's Alright and Changing Colors would be on the cd or as bonus tracks. Has that completely changed or might these still show up on "special" editions at certain stores? I love all of Jason's music and like everyone else here, want to hear as much as possible - I was especially hoping for these 3 songs. Also, Jason has said at his shows, that Hallelujah is the last track on his album. I wonder if this is the case on the 8 track basic cd. For the people not familiar with Jason, I sure wish there were more than 8 tracks for them to get to know him. Having said all that, I really am excited for April 13th and all of the wonderful things happening for Jason. In my opinion, he is the most unique and talented artist to come along in decades. I want to listen to his music for the rest of my life.

Glad the CD is finally coming out, but am also confused by the wording in the e-mail and in the Web store: the digital bundle pre-order says standard CD and the standard bundle pre-order says deluxe CD. The email says any pre-order gets deluxe CD. Which is it? (I'd like to ensure that I get the deluxe CD, but I'd already pre-ordered digital bundle...need to know before April 13...). Also bummed that It's Alright With Me didn't make the album after all--to me, that's the most moving song (also missing Shine Your Light--the world needs more songs with this kind of non-preachy message). Not whining, just "voting" for future considerations (album, b-side, other)... I also agree with the concerns about only 8 songs. Consumers who aren't familiar with Jason aren't as likely to buy an entire CD with so few songs, unless the price is LOW--but a low price could also deter potential buyers who might assume low price means poor quality/choice... Confused...anxious...yet excited for Jason!

I am really pleased that we are finally getting a release date and a tracklisting. I have been waiting for both for a long time, so I'm very excited to get this information! It sounds like it will be a great CD. I agree with many of the others who have posted that I'd wished to see more of the songs we already knew, especially Shine Your Light, It's Alright With Me, and Tell Me So. I hope to see all of these (and more!) released in the future because they are wonderful! I also have to say that I am disappointed that the in-store CDs will only have 8 tracks. Usually the standard number of tracks for debut CDs is at least 10, and since Jason is already a well-known name, I honestly expected his to have even more. I have refrained from pre-ordering the CD on this site or on Amazon because a)I want to have the experience of buying Jason's CD in a store, and b)I would prefer to have a hard copy of the CD instead of only a digital copy. Call me old-fashioned, but that's how I am. I fear there has been some poor decision-making at Atlantic throughout this whole process, and Jason deserves better. He will always have us, his die-hard fans, but I think it will be harder to gain more fans if in-store CDs only have 8 tracks. I love Jason immensely and want to see him succeed and reach more people, but I already feel like we -- his already existing fans -- are being asked to jump through hoops to get as much of his music as we want. Jason will always have my support and I will get the deluxe CD somehow, but I am not pleased with the way it's being presented to us right now, as only being available in digital form or as part of a bundle for more money. It doesn't seem like Jason is being treated as a regular artist, and that's not fair to him. I don't know if anyone from the label reads these comments or not, but I get the feeling that many of us feel this way, and I don't know of another way to express these feelings. Don't get me wrong, I am WAY excited for the CD!

Question: You say that everyone who pre-ordered gets the Deluxe version. But in the description of the Digital Bundle, it says "standard cd"...so which version do those of us who pre-ordered the digital bundle get? Thanks for keeping us in the loop! It looks like it's going to be one super-wonderful CD!

Thanks for the update on what's happening with everything Jason...you posted the line up of songs on your CD. You must be very proud right now....Just keep in mind many of us love your older songs as well. My personal favorite is "Tell Me So" and also It's Alright, Wait and Matter of Time. I have to be honest I was hoping to see a few of these on the final cut.

So does that mean the 14 tracks that are listed will not be available on itunes or either the actual cd that will be in the stores? I want to know now so I'll know whether to purchase it through the website or if I can buy it from off of itunes/retail store. :-þ I along with everyone else is anxious to hear as much of Jason as possible lol.
CaitlinValerie's picture

Why not have all of the songs on all of the albums? So if I order from amazon, it will only be 8 tracks?
justantonio's picture

I hope the other songs get released ...maybe they will be on the next cd....lot of classics missing there...i.e. Wait, It's alright with me, someday, changing colors, tonight, the newer reggae version of Shine your light.

where can i buy the cd on Hard copy of the love uncompromised???
sskyblue's picture

this is great. but i do understand where paris is coming from. for the everyday person walking in best buy, to grab it. 8 doesn't seem like much. BUT the contents IN the cd will bring 'em back for more!! so i say, take all the extras and toss 'em on another cd by the end of summer!! :} haha like theres no work to that!!
chrissgallery's picture

whatt?? no "Wait" and "It's Alright With Me" ?? whyy?? i've been dying waiting for those songs!!
paris's picture

I'm dying for this album to sell so think more than eight songs should be on it. It Matters to Me and the new improved Sweet Medicine are to die for. Hallelujah for all of those folks who don't have eleven versions like we do. When will you tell which eight are going to be on the one we are going to buy for our friends? I do love having a goodie but more should be included for folks to Fall in Love With It!
sskyblue's picture

wait. you say deluxe album. is that the only one that gets 6 extra songs or is it for all pre-ordered cds?
