Warner Music Group showcase for Itunes! San Jose, CA

tonight was a blast! so lets start with... 10 am soundcheck.... that meant waking at like 8... no fun... especially since i wasnt playing till 8 oclock at night! but i did it, went back to the hotel and too a nap...ya.

so here the story really starts! show up to the event, it was at a really cool venue called the voodoo lounge, around 5 pm. walked in at the end of "Natalie Portman's Shaved Head"..haha ya weird name but fun band! i met all the guys(and one gal :) after the show. they where so nice! witnessed Bone Thugs N Harmony! that was a blast from the past and theyve got a new album coming out! crazyyy. right around that time i met guy named Jason Derulo! you might be familiar with that name :) sings the song "Whatcha Say" its kind of huge right now... LOVE IT! he was super cool, bummed i missed his set but glad we got to chat!

the night carried on and we had a dinner break where there was some killer barbQ! i actually didnt end up eating any until after the show which, by then, the food was cold.. but it was still amazing! mmm mmmm during the break i met a band called Group 1 Crew and they where pretty awesome people! they where also the first up after the break and they where amazing! really great dancing going on, some rapping some singing. i was impressed and really enjoyed them. also during the dinner break... somebody started playing guitar and singing in the middle of dinner with no pa system and i didnt know what was going on and i walk over to find The Swell Season!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! for those of you that dont know the swell season is made up of the guy and gal from the movie "once" which if you havent seen, you must! it was so unreal watching them sing unplugged standing up with a huddle of people around them. it was like i was in a scene from "once"! same beat up guitar and raw breathtaking vocals. that was definitely one of my favorite moments of the night.

Atlantic artists took the stage last starting with Robert Francis with whom, i just fell in love. that is one live show you NEED to catch! i played next and it went well.. i got great feedback after the set which is always encouraging. it was neat to show the itunes folks what ive been working on! obviously we have a bit of a relationship already started with American Idol but nobody really knew what i did on my own! so that was fun. and thennn came on the talented Caitlin Crosby. absolutely love her voice! such a sweet girl too. she has a fantastci website she started, www.LOVEYOURFLAWZ.com that showcases men and women showing off their natural beauty and its really inspiring! you should cruise on over there and check it out. i took a picture tonight that will be going up on the website soon :) The Swellers came on next to close the show and they found the sweet spot in my heart. haha theyre a pop punk band on Fueled by Ramen and i LOVE POP PUNK!!!! watching them made me wanna play drums again... but im having too much fun doing what im doing so that will ha ve to wait!!! haha

well thats it for the night, time to pack up. im flying to dallas in the morning and going straight to rehearsals! getting the band ready for friday at the fair!!! until next time....

Sounds like you had a great time and got a good reception there! I can feel your excitement! Also, after the radio tour, you might have time to get back on the drums for fun (and maybe play on just one song during a possible tour?). :)

Thanks for checking in, Jason. It sounds like it was a really great night. (Bone, Thugs, and Harmony are still together? Insanity!) I saw a band called Fiction 20 Down over the summer and they did a super wicked cover of "Regulate" by Warren G, that was so much fun. Old school rap is fun. Anyway, I'm going through some major concert withdraw right now, so your suggestions are very much appreciated. :-) I'm sorry I can't see you at the fair, but I hope it's a great show. I don't see how it couldn't be and enjoy your homecoming.

I love Group 1 Crew and the movie Once. Sounds like a great show!

I wish I could go to the fair this weekend, but you're playing the same night as the Taylor Swift concert in Dallas. My roommate and I bought tickets to that months ago.

I saw you play at The Door in Dallas before you were on Idol. I've been a fan ever since. Can't wait for the album and to see you live again!

Thanks for the update Jason! I am so glad things are going great for you as I knew it would. I'm coming to see you at the Fair! I live in a tiny village south of Buffalo, NY and we have all kinds of County Fairs and of course the State Fair, but I have never been to one. The Texas State Fair will be the first! Might as well start with the biggest and the bestest! See you Friday!

It sounds like you had a really amazing night! Great music, good food (albeit cold). I have no doubt that you got good feedback on your performance. The iTunes folks and the other acts must have been just as impressed as you were with some of the other performances. Thanks for the tips on the new acts and thank you, thank you for continuing to keep us "in the loop" at this very exciting time in your life.

Good luck in Dallas. I wish I could be there ...
